We had Eli's medical exam. It is a very brief exam. Both Paula and I chuckle at how it is carried out. Shaking a rattle = a hearing test. Eli is 47 inches and 22 KG. Since we are under the new Hague rules we had to do the immunizations. (1112 RMB) Eli got OPV, DTAP, MMR and Varicella. 3 shots- As you can imagine this did not go well. He started screaming, and people started gathering. That is one thing both Paula and I notice about China - that if people are curious they simply barge in....so much for HIPPA here....
We had to wait for 30 minutes after the injections- and the crowd continued to talk with him as we sat outside waiting until we could leave.
After the exam we picked up our laundry, some gifts and went back to the park.
I was able to find a Kung Fu Panda DVD which has Chinese subtitles. It was a huge hit !
The kids relaxed and we ordered Papa Johns pizza and spicy chicken sticks for Eli.
I ran back to the store and purchased 10 more DVD's to take home with us. (10 DVD's for 100 RMB)
Tomorrow our guide will be taking all our documentation to the Consulate. I have to camp out in the room just in case there are questions - I pray that all goes well so that we can get his Visa and start our journey back home.

I'm so glad your sister is there with you. :-) All the huge changes probably just got to the poor little guy on the safari and he needed to have a mini-meltdown to get it out of his system. Love the pix you guys are taking! Can't wait to have you back!

Hi Shelly, I think of you daily and hope you guys are all doing well. You have an amazing family. I loved the part about the hug! That was so sweet. See you when you get back to work. :)
It sure could have been a Drive By Medical Exam. The sign in the waiting room that sais "Keep Quiet" had us laughing out loud. All a part of the journey .......
