riding in the front seat or driving the car!!! (that's what works with me LOL I have and still do get car sick) There is nothing worse than that FEELING!!
Also keeping cool a/c or window as little clothes as possible!
My parents gave me Dramamine but all I can recall from that is sleeping the tip away and then arriving at place feeling like all I wanted to keep doing was sleep!
This topic just came up on a yahoo group today. Someone suggested using anti nausea wristbands or bracelets. They should be available at your local drug store.
We just started using this for our daughter: http://www.motioneaze.com/ who has experienced motion sickness from the day we picked her up in Russia four years ago. We tried Dramamine and some other OTC pill (of whose name I cannot remember) and both knocked her out and made her feel loopy. My MIL uses Motion Eaze daily for an inner ear condition and recommended it for Alena. We just got back from Orlando Saturday and she used it the entire trip (plane, cars, boats, train, Disney rides, etc.) and never once did she complain about feeling ill. I think we finally found our "miracle cure" for her horrible condition! Try it. Hopefully it'll work for your son, too.
I'm getting car sick just reading this post!!! Fresh air and looking forward helps me. Looking out the side window or reading/looking at books are not good!
This Blog is the chronicle of our family's journey through the process of adopting Mia-Faith XinHe and Elijah Russell AiSheng, and any other Waala family news.
We brought our Mia home July, 2006 from Fuzhou, China. She was 21 months old at Gotcha day. Eli joined our family at 6 years old in March 2009 from Wuhan, China. We are now complete- Our family has been blessed beyond measure !!

Best suggestion is riding in the front seat, sleeping, or listening to music with eyes closed.

It might be watching the movies in the car that is causing it. I know that makes me car sick. Sitting by a window helps some.
Sit in the front seat, look straight ahead, and don't read anything.

I forgot to add, we bought it at Walmart and found it right next to the Dramamine.
