Today was our adoption date. The kids went to school for a few hours this morning. I picked the kids up around 10:30 am and we went to the Washington County Courthouse. The kids got a kick out of walking through the weapons sensor. Mia actually walked through on her own and ran into the arms of Harrison. We waited until we were called and entered the courtroom. It was a closed session. The Honorable Judge was very nice. I testified first. I was a little surprised how formal it was. Dave went second. The judge read a number of things from our homestudy for the record and then he told us congratulations. It was pretty cool.
What was even more exciting was the Judge offered to take pictures and gave the kids a tour of the bench. The kids LOVED it. Hayden was fascinated with all of the Judges computers. I felt a little bad because there was quite a line outside the courtroom when we were done.
It was off to a celebratory lunch...of course the kids chose Burger King...I would have preferred any place besides that but they got to decide.

That is so awesome! One of my best friends adopted a few years ago and adoption day was so great! The judge was just so sweet and they took all of the pictures and made a little film to show at their adoption party!
