Insomnia again...

One year ago today I was leaving on a jet-plane to begin the most amazing journey !!
July 3rd we are planning a celebration for Mia-Faith. It was the day I first held her in my arms and the day her Chinese Adoption became official. No period for "harmonization"- we did it all in a matter of hours. I can not believe that time has passed by so quickly. Whenever one of the kids has a birthday I drive them crazy by recounting every detail leading up to their labor and birth... well it's started again. Tonight at dinner I started the blow-by-blow on what I was doing the night before I left for China. The only thing is that we all know going to China is a two week ordeal !
I sat and watched the video's from the China trip tonight. In some ways it's like looking at an event that is almost surreal. Mia-Faith seems so small, withdrawn and timid. Nothing like the girl we know now. I actually miss the time I spent in China.
I can't wait to return there some day with our confident, smiley, funny, lovable little gal -Mia.

So many mixed emotions for you today Shelly and for the next few weeks as you recount the details from your journey to Mia-Faith. God certainly had a plan for your family that could not be altered. Mia certainly has grown in so mnay ways and your family has shown her more love than ever imagined. Celebrating the time with you!
