Lifest 2007

We just got back last night from LIFEST 2007. It's a music festival featuring all different types of Christian music. The event runs 5 days. We did spend one night camping and slept in a tent. It was an experience with all 5 kids. They did OK but we didn't get any sleep. One band SKILLET (punk rock) played until 1 am, we had some pretty loud neighbors and there is a train that seemed to choo-choo all night. We came home one night early and slept like rocks until 9am this morning. We saw some great bands on the main stage-Newsboys, Casting Crowns, TobyMac, David Crowder, Jars of Clay, Brandon Heath, Barlow girl, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra and Jeremy Camp.

Saturday a 15 year old girl died in a tragic event. The festival had a bungee jump and this girl fell to the ground. We left the event shortly before they announced she had died. For those of you who visit the blog and are the praying- kind- 0f- folk, I ask that you say a quick prayer for her family.

PS-for those of you who asked and e-mailed me the newspaper in the last post came from fodey.com.

Sorry we didn't get to meet at Lifest again this year! I had a one day ticket but I gave it away. My mom died last Monday but I could have went, it might have been a nice distraction, but the week had been so busy and my husband had pulled double/triple/quadruple duty with the girls over the weeks of my mom's illness, I didn't want to leave him with them again for another night. I was pretty exhausted too. I really wanted to see Jars of Clay, love them, but oh well. I hope next year! Maybe we can meet somewhere else before the snow flies?

I am so totally envious right now! I have always wanted to go to the one that is held in California. I wish we had that kind of event down here. Sounds like it is so much fun!

I am so sorry to hear about the tragedy of that death. What a shame. I will be praying for the family and the coordinators of this event. I know everyone must be hurting tremendously!

OMG! Sounds like an AWESOME event! I am so jealous. :)

I will definitely be saying prayers for the family who lost their daughter. How very sad.
