What's happening.....

I decided to take advantage of not having a single kiddo home and do an update.
Since school started things have been crazy. Just getting everything organized, the kids to bed early and back into a routine has been a challenge....then add transitioning Mia-Faith to school and my hours changing at work and it was a complete shake-up. Things are better and everyone has settled in....it's a lot of work having 5 kids at 3 different schools....I can't imagine adding a 4th ... the High School next year.
As for the kids-Harrison brought home the first slip that needed to be signed for H/S next year...I can't even go there. I am in denial. Madeline made Student Council and she is very excited. Hayden has had a rougher time this year. He does have the most amazing teacher...she has been a great help. Keaton has been making friends and says that kindergarten is a lot of work. As for Mia-Faith she is doing great. She heads off to Early Childhood 4 days a week. There is another little Asian gal who has taken Mia under her wing. Mia is making more noises and is imitating some words. What comes out of her mouth doesn't phonetically sound right but it's better than nothing.
Dave had a birthday and is back to work. He has been great getting the kids off in the morning and then starting dinner when they get home.
As for me I am enjoying every moment. I treasure every age, every activity, all of them. Nothing is better than being a wife and mommy.

when you have a chance... can you share with me what you are doing to promote English with Mia. Everyone keeps asking me how many words can Maddy say etc. We've only been home a week and she is not even 2 yet so I don't expect a whole lot just yet. that being said, I'd really love to chat with a mom who has also adopted a toddler about language challenges etc.

We have applied for a SN child who will most probably have a cleft lip/palate, so we will be doing the language/speech therapy circuit when she finally arrives from China. Hope we both still have some blogging time by then as we may need your wise counsel. CCAA has just about docked the slow boat, it seems.
We always enjoy reading your blog - we feel like your neighbors!

How is the speech therapy now that she is three? Annslee will start in a couple of weeks and I am hopeful for progress. Glad all your kiddos are doing well : )

Your house is as busy as ever. Adjusting to the new school year has not been easy for us either. I just told my dh that I wasn't sure how I'd handle a 4th right now, the 3 differ school thing has me flustered.

Glad to hear your enjoying it all though, time does fly....except while waiting with an '06 LID! ;0)

I loved this post, I loved that last sentence. I think SO often we take for granted what we have, even our children and our callings in life. (My sister, a chronic complainer about having no time for herself with 4 boys, is a perfect example). Life rushes by so quickly, you know?

I hear you!! Those last 3 sentences could have been written by me too. It gets soooo crazy at times, yet this is exactly what I want to be doing, being a wife and mother. Love it!! So thankful for all the blessings...!
