Our last day was rainy and cold. Eli woke up at 5:45 am. 1 1/2 hours too early. Any parent of a child knows lack of sleep can bring challenges.
We decided to take a Taxi to the Yangtze river. We only lasted 10-15 minutes. It was really windy and cold. Fortunately there was a mall right across the way. We purchased a few items; some Lego's, a remote controlled car and two Chinese DVD's. Anything to help pass the time in the hotel room.
We went back to the Wuhan Civil Affairs office and picked up Eli's Chinese Passport and a few other Chinese documents. We are all set to go to Guangzhou - get the medical exam done and get his Visa. On the way back in the taxi Eli sang to us. We figured out that he wanted us to count to 100. We did- he then sang to 100 in Chinese. It was precious.
Good news -- Paula and the boys arrived in Hong Kong last night ! We connected over Skype. We can't wait to see them in the morning. Our flight leaves for Guangzhou at 11:30 am. We are soooo excited to pack up and leave. A change of scenery will be good. My only fear is that Eli will become very emotional again when he realizes that we are leaving the city. Fortunately our guide will be traveling/flying with us.

You're wise to prepare for sadness as Eli leaves Wuhan. Things will get better, but he does need to grieve his losses. He'll be okay.
Sorry the kids at home are sick. Bet you're glad you're not the one dealing with that too!
What an amazing journey! Thank you for sharing it - all the posts are wonderful. Have safe travels and congratulations on having your little boy in your arms. In time he will come to realize what a truly blessed change of life he has been given.
